SHCS Parent Meeting: Thursday, March 19th , at 6:30pm at the Wasatch Co Library.
Parent Teacher Conferences: March 25th & 26th. Be sure to sign up for a time to meet with your child’s teacher.
No School: Monday, March 23rd. Enjoy the three day weekend.
Spring Pictures: March 18th for spring pictures. Siblings are invited from 1:00 – 1:30, ages two and up.
Book Fair: ‘Buy One Get One Free’ book fair will be March 24-27, with a sneak peek day on March 20th. Volunteer hours are available: please contact Joni Taylor at [email protected] or 654-8053.
Yearbook pictures: March 31st for picture make-up day. If your student did not get their picture taken yet for the SHCS yearbook, this is another chance.
From Mrs. Gallo: Could you please spread the word? An opportunity to be even greener! If we submit a winning essay (parents, students, and teachers) we could be eligible to win a hybrid bus and $3,000 in school supplies. Students are eligible to win $5000 in scholarship money!

Read-A-Thon
The school-wide “Read-a-thon” began on Monday, March 9. Each student received a “Read-a-thon” record sheet &are to record the name of the book & the number of pages read. They may use the back if they fill up the front side. The class with the most pages read will receive a pizza party & a coupon each to the next book fair for a book worth $5.00 or less!
Students are allowed to read at home (20 minutes worth of pages will be counted toward the “Read-a-thon”) Please check these amounts to make sure they are reasonable, and prevent dishonesty.
The “Read-a-thon” will end Friday, following a school-wide reading period from 10:30-11:30. Students are free to bring blankets, pillows, and other comfortable items…. Pajamas are not permitted.
K-2nd will hold their “Read-a-thon” at the Lodge on Friday, 3/13. Please drop off & pick-up these students at the Lodge.
Rewards Program: Thank you all for helping so much with the fishing game that the kids are doing right now. During the month of February we received 1,284 box tops! That’s $128.40 (pretty good for one month)! Here are the standings so far:
1st Grade – 49 Fish
2nd Grade – 32 Fish
3rd Grade – 22 Fish
Kindergarten – 15 Fish
5th Grade – 3 Fish
4th Grade – 2 Fish
6/7/8th Grade – 2 Fish
Please keep sending your box tops in with your children. This game will continue through March 31st.

Seven Peaks Water Park – Peak Reader Every student should have received a form for the Peak Reader program. If your child reads 500 minutes during the month of March (and records it on the form) they will receive a free pass to Seven Peaks Water Park and a coupon to Trafalga Fun Center. If you still need a sign-up form, please get one at the office.
