Rewards Program
We are beginning our first game this week!  Every time your child brings in a label from Tyson frozen chicken they will get to choose a prize from the treasure chest.  The school receives 24 cents for each “Support Your School” label.  Please have your children put these in the collection boxes in their classrooms.  Make sure your child’s name and teachers name are on the labels.  This game will continue through October 9th.

Remember to enroll in the Smith’s Earn and Learn Program.  Just call 1-800-764-8897 and give them your phone number or Fresh Values/Rewards card number.  Please have your friends and family link their cards up, too.  Even if you’re already enrolled, YOU MUST RENEW THIS MONTH!  We just received $971.76 for last year.  Only 22 people participated for our school.  That’s really a shame since we had over 100 families enrolled in the school last year.  A school in nearby Evanston, Wyoming just received over $16,000!  I sincerely hope to see every parent in our school signed up this week.  There is absolutely no reason not to do this!  It doesn’t cost you anything or affect your card in anyway, and it takes less than a minute of your time.

Please shop through the BOXTOPS MARKETPLACE when making purchases online.  Again, this is quick, easy and free.  You won’t receive junk mail!  There are more than 100 stores that participate.  Simply go to www.boxtops4education.com, click on “Marketplace”, select your store and shop as usual.  Since it takes you to the store’s website, you are still able to use coupons and take advantage of special offers.  The stores contribute up to 8% of your purchase to the school.  THAT’S A LOT!!  Other schools are earning $20,000 each year from this alone.  Since we have very limited shopping in our valley, most of us do shop online and every one of us should be taking advantage of this program.  The first time you shop you will need to fill out a brief registration so boxtops knows which school you’re supporting.  After that, all it requires is 2 extra mouse clicks – seriously!

Encourage your friends, family and neighbors to help, too!  Our school would be earning $50,000 per year (or more) from these programs if everyone participated!  That’s more than we receive from all of our other fundraisers combined – including the fall gala and the raffle tickets.  This money doesn’t come from our own pockets either.  Please take advantage of these wonderful opportunities we have and support Soldier Hollow Charter School!  We collect all reward items all year long.  See the bulletin board at the bottom of the stairs for current information.  If you have any questions, please call or email me.  Thank you so much!  –Jill Johnson at 657-2136 or gljill1@msn.com
Charter School Ski Program 2009-2010: As we all know, the ski program is quickly approaching.  With that in mind we have seen the school grow this year and Soldier Hollow needs some help to make this the best ski year yet!

SH Ski Lodge Is Hiring: The SH Lodge is looking for individuals that love kids and skiing.  We need help during the charter school times to keep our program running. Responsibilities  will include, but not limited to, helping with prep for the ski day, being responsible for  groups of kids,  putting away and organizing ski gear,  running the program when I am not present, etc.  Not only do we need help in Charter School, but we also need help in Little Vikings, and Ski School at the lodge.  Please feel free to contact Andrea with specifics on schedules, pay rate, your availability, etc.

Please pass along to anyone who would be interested!
