January 12th Newsletter

Board Meeting: 6:00pm on Tuesday, Jan 13th.

School Holidays: No school on Friday, Jan 16th (professional day) and Monday, Jan. 19th (civil rights day)

Student spotlight: Stephanie is running low on the student spotlight sheets. We would love the chance to highlight each student, so be sure to turn one in if you haven’t already.

Parking: We would like to ask drivers to help with the parking situation at SHCS. If you drive a truck or SUV, please don’t park in the three stalls closest to the school. The turn around becomes very tight with snow banks and large vehicles parked at the top.

SHCS Winter Olympics, Feb 27th, and Country Presentations on Feb 26th:
If anyone has Olympic memorabilia or other fun Olympic items that they are willing to display on Feb 26th, please contact a member of the PTO.

Olympic Team Assignments, Jan 22nd, at 8:15am at the Lodge: All students need to be dropped off at the lodge at 8:15am. We will be assigning students their teams/countries. We are also in the process of securing a former Olympian to talk with the children.

All parents who are helping with the teams will soon be receiving information regarding the SHCS Olympics. The PTO is in the process of finalizing details.

SHCS ski school schedule:

Rewards Program: Congratulations 1st grade for winning the snowball fight! They brought in 126 milk caps. That’s extraordinary! First grade will be having a real snowball fight soon. Have fun everyone!

We will now begin collecting Tyson Project A+ Labels. These are large red labels found on most Tyson frozen chicken products. They have a dotted line showing you where to cut, and they say “Support Your School! – 1 2 3″. Please write your child’s name and grade on the back of the labels. Each week we will have a drawing and the winner gets to choose a prize from my treasure box! This will continue through January 30th. Thank you so much! – J. Johnson gljill1@msn.com
