A Big Thank You to all of our Volunteers

So far this year, we are showing an amazing amount of volunteer support for our school. Let’s continue to help our children and keep logging those hours. An updated tally of hours (including those “lost” ones that were not entered) will be completed this upcoming week. And if you need more hours, we have two more big events coming up this Spring– Environmental Week and the Art Auction. Thanks again for all of your help!

SHCS Biathlon Times With Skis

These times will substitute for the regular charter school time. This year, we will ski and shoot. This means that we will only meet once during the week but it will be for a longer period of time. The biathlon experience for each class will be approximately two hours!

The teachers can walk the kids directly to the lodge to pick up skis. A volunteer or teacher will need to be with the kids the entire period because they will need to help the kids get their gear and return it. The range masters cannot leave the range unattended, to help with skis. Joey will be the range master.

It is vital that the kids are on their best behavior or the range master will shut down the range. There are no warnings, for safety reasons! It is very important that the teachers are on time for this to be an effective biathlon experience.
